Construction software specialists Donseed have launched a Delivery Management System to manage site deliveries by suppliers.
A firms’ supply chain is able to log into an online system where they can book and manage deliveries to construction sites. Project details such as which equipment is available at specific delivery gates allows companies and suppliers to efficiently self-manage and co-ordinate deliveries in one place.
The system has been designed to facilitate efficient and safe off-loading of materials from the agreed arrival time right through to the equipment needed to move it to its final location on site. It even calculates business travel for carbon emissions for those who need it. Each delivery request made by a supplier sends an automated email to the main contractor and reserves a diary slot. The contractor can accept, edit or reject any requests. This allows companies to carefully plan, co-ordinate and report on all site based logistics. Suppliers are also able to enter additional information that might be required by the site, such as specific instructions or missing items.
‘Gate Keepers’ can also use Donseed’s access control applications to check and sign off deliveries, removing the need for any paper.
This means that the entire management of personnel and materials on a project can be managed from one place.
The system is hosted by Donseed and is therefore accessible from any site, head office or smartphone. Alerts can be automatically set up informing management or suppliers of any changes to delivery details. The Delivery Management System is a popular introduction to the existing Donseed range which already includes the use of biometrics for access control, carbon measurement, health and safety compliance and muster points for fire regulations.
