Donseed biometric (fingerprint) tablets are being used at Bedford Riverside North, the high-profile town centre regeneration project in central Bedford. The Riverside North scheme provides a diverse range of leisure uses, including a hotel, cinema and restaurants, as well as 46 private and 18 affordable homes. The new development is designed to draw on the beauty of Bedford’s natural asset – the River Great Ouse – and greatly enhance the area making it a popular destination for both residents and visitors.
Workers are using the Donseed tablets to sign in and out of site, ensuring accurate payments and health and safety compliance.
The site, measuring approximately 3.6 acres, is located immediately south of Bedford’s historic commercial centre and to the west of the civic hub of St Paul’s Square. By developing the site in a way that prioritises pedestrian movement, the scheme brings together various key locations that are otherwise relatively isolated from each other. The project also delivers a new pedestrian and cycle bridge, as well as public realm and landscaping improvements.
