We did it – 100 miles, 2,370m of climbing, 8hrs+ of cycling, 4,000+ cals burned and most importantly an incredible amount of money raised for four amazing charities.
Three teams from Donseed joined thousands of cyclists on Sunday 24 September to take place in Velo Birmingham – a 100 mile ride through Birmingham, Worcestershire and Staffordshire. Starting on Broad Street in the heart of Birmingham, the Velo Birmingham 100 mile-route took riders through the picturesque Staffordshire and Worcestershire countryside before descending back into Birmingham. With 2,370m of climbing, it was a challenging route…but all for a fantastic cause.
Over the last three months, in the lead up to Sunday’s ride, Team Donseed have been raising money for the four Donseed ‘Charities of the Year’ – The Alzheimer Society of Ireland (The Rosemary Day Care Centre), Battledown Friends Group, The Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Support Dogs. These charities have been nominated by the team here at Donseed and all of the money we have raised is being equally split between these four fantastic charities. You can find more information about the four charities here.
